Applications
Industrial grade Helium is used as a shielding gas in metal fabrication, especially for laser and arc welding, due to its inert properties and ability to create ideal arc temperatures for welding high-heat conductivity materials.
Helium is used in diving and IMR (Inspection, Maintenance & Repair) work achieved subsea for oil & gas offshore operations.
In the automotive industry, Helium is used to inflate car airbags.
In science, Helium is used to cool down material below 4.2K mainly for superconductivity applications like particle accelerator, spallation source, light source, nuclear fusion, or quantum research and quantum computing.
